A Raven Cruz moved to Los Angeles and began his filmmaking career in 1999 when he wrote his first screenplay Chrysalis. Supported by Oliver Stone, and several other filmmakers in the LA community he began directing independent productions, most of which he produced as well.Continually pushing inexpensive digital technology and the talent of his creative teams past their limits, he began to be noticed for making micro budget productions look like studio projects. His first short film, Making Moments, co-directed with his partner in Stained Iris Productions Sylwia Nova Golonka, received several awards and high praises from the Los Angeles Film Community. In 2002 he directed an industrial called The Vapir, after which he was ultimately sought out to write direct and produce The Helix…Loaded, a feature film parody-homage of the Matrix, Fight Club and other popular cutting edge films. He also has worked as a Camera Operator, Director of Photography and Director on documentaries such as The Sundance Film Festival Native Forum Documentary. Raven also has created several featurettes for MGM’s bonus DVD materials, working with such titles as The Long Goodbye with Robert Altman and Elliot Gould.

Raven has several projects in the works, including; producing and co-directing a feature film with acclaimed director Bernt Capra entitled Laundry Boat Days, a story of young Picasso’s struggle to revolutionize modern art.. In addition, Raven is currently finishing his screenplays for One Hand Clapping and Push. for production later this year.
