In 2005, Stained Iris Productions stunned the motion picture industry by premiering its micro-budget feature, "The Helix…Loaded" at the Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA - the first completely independently financed and distributed film to do so. Cutting deals direct with major cineplexes, "The Helix…Loaded" bypassed the art houses and went on to play at mainstream cinemas across the country. Stained Iris demonstrated that independent cinema could finally reach the masses outside the typical studio system.
